🌐 Giới thiệu về Báo cáo:
We show that several problems naturally represented as Nonlinear Absolute Value Equations (NAVE) can be reformulated as Nonlinear Complementarity Problems (NCP) and then efficiently solved using smoothing techniques under mild assumptions. As far as we know, there is no other numerical approach that directly deals with Nonlinear Absolute Value Equations. We identify a technical assumption commonly utilized in smoothing techniques and prove its equivalence to a classical Lojasiewicz inequality at infinity. This confirms, in particular, that this assumption is not restrictive at all. We also give several sufficient assumptions to prove the uniqueness of the solution and establish some error estimates. To illustrate the effectiveness of our approach, we apply it to several problems, including asymmetric ridge optimization and nonlinear ordinary differential equations.
